Indiana State Fair Queen

21 08 2011

Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I always wanted to do our local county fair queen contest, but never had the opportunity.  I was always extremely active in participating in other programs and never had a summer free.  I did; however, get to live that dream through my two sisters, and several cousins.  Watching them hold the title of Jackson County Fair Queen and then go on to compete at the State fair was magical and I knew that someday I would have a chance to be involved in some way.

This year at the state fair, I got my chance to be involved…as a judge.  It was the most amazing experience getting to know each contestant in the phases of competition.  It made me realize even more how much I love the program and the job representing the fair, the state and agriculture in general.

Miss Tippecanoe County came away with the title this year, and came away with our hearts.  We all fell in love with her the moment she walked into the interview room.  Congratulations to her and to the other 87 contestants who will all serve as incredible ambassadors.
