Peace Lutheran, Greencastle

2 04 2011

Today was a great day spending time with the amazing families of Peace Lutheran Church and School in Greencastle, IN.  I love working with smaller Lutheran schools all across the country and appreciate every opportunity I have to give back to Lutheran education.  There were about 200 people in attendance at the Dixie Chopper Center, ready to bid on some of the most incredible silent auction items I have ever seen.  There was everything from a signed Gary Brackett jersey to six-dozen cookies baked by one of the students at the school (which went for $600).  I personally won a Thomas Kinkade painting!  I’ve always wanted to own one.

I was given a few moments to reflect on how Lutheran education impacted my life and why I chose to get more involved in giving back.  I loved sharing stories from my childhood, especially since some of my childhood family friends were in the audience that night.

Lutheran education, bringing PEACE to everyone it touches!  Thank you Lord for a place that is so full of you and your spirit!
